Oil went up because of the two major storms hitting the Gulf of Mexico and so did the value of some Oklahoma related energy companies.
SandRidge Energy saw a 5.06% jump of 8 cents a share, finishing Monday’s trading at $1.66. Devon Energy rose 3.26% or 34 cents to end the day at $10.78 per share.
Continental Resources ended the day up 2.69% or 46 cents a share at $17.59. Chesapeake Energy dropped 2.68% or 15 cents to $5.45. Williams Cos. Inc. finished up 27 cents or 1.26% to $21.68 per share.
Ovintiv Inc. rose 5.36% or 59 cents a share to finish at $11.60. Cypress Environmental rose one cent to end at $2.53. ONEOK settled at $27.26, up 38 cents or 1.41% WPX Energy ended at $5.93 for a 16 cent or 2.86% gain.
Alliance Resource ended at $3.38, a 10 cent or 3.05% increase. Helmerich and Payne rose 53 cents or 3.17% to finish at $17.42. Laredo Petroleum jumped nearly 7% or 97 cents to end Monday’s trading at $14.89 a share.
