Hurricane rains didn’t reach western Oklahoma where the drought is growing

Hurricane Laura brought heavy rains to far southeastern Oklahoma but it did little to ease the growing drought in the western part of the state. In fact, the latest drought monitor shows dry conditions are worsening in the western half of the state.

Farmers are finding pastures are no longer green and corn crops are drying early and fall harvesting has started early.
