Raising speed limits on some Oklahoma highways

Speed limits are being increased on Oklahoma’s turnpikes and some of its interstates, even though the approval for higher limits was approved last year.

The Turnpike Authority met Tuesday to consider boosting the maximum speed limits on parts of its turnpikes from 75 mph to 8 mph.

The Oklahoman reported Tuesday that the Oklahoma Transportation Commission will meet next week to consider raising speed limits to 75 mph on rural interstates.
