Ovintiv Mid-Continent hits 3 Canadian County wells with 3,600 barrels of oil a day production

Oklahoma’s STACK still has some big producers to yield, despite the near total collapse of oil and gas drilling in the state. This week, Houston-based Ovintiv Mid-Continental Inc. filed completion reports on three Canadian County sister wells with combined production of more than 3,600 barrels of oil a day.

As OK Energy Today reported earlier this week, Ovintiv filed a report on the Klade 1407 4h-3x well located at 10 14N 7W or about 3 miles southeast of Okarche. The well produced 759 barrels of oil a day.

But on Tuesday, the company filed two more Klade 1407 wells located in the adjacent section at 15 14N 7W, which was literally across the road. The two wells had combined production of 2,852 barrels of oil a day.

The Klade 1407 6h-3x had production of 1,290 barrels of oil a day and 1,219 Mcf of natural gas from a drilling depth of 19,558 in the Mississippian formation. It had a spud date of January 21, 2020 and drilling was finished on March 14 with completion made on May 3, 2020.

The second Klade well at 15 14N 7W produced 1,562 barrels of oil a day and 130 Mcf of natural gas. The Klade 1407 8h-3x had a drilling depth of 19,852 feet in the Mississippian formation. The well had a January 23 spud date. Drilling finished Feb. 24 and the completion was on the same date as the Klade 1407 6h-3x.

But Ovintiv isn’t finished with the area because a list of drilling permits released Tuesday by state regulators included yet another Klade well, the Klade #1407 2H-3X. It will be drilled at 10 14N 7W.
