More layoffs and bankruptcies hit Oklahoma

More bankruptcies and layoffs are hitting Oklahoma although it is not directly in the state’s energy field. Still, it has an impact.

NPC, owner of Pizza Huts in Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma filed for Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy. The filing, according to Bill Hancock, the Business Services and Rapid Response Coordinator at the Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development did not state the plans for which locations are closed and those that will remain open.

Eight employees were laid off this week by Oklahoma City. At least 168 positions were eliminated, but most were frozen empty positions. In addition some who lost their current position were reassigned to other retained open positions.
