Can the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers be blocked from permitting oil and gas projects like the Dakota Access Pipeline? Or those in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and other oil and gas producing states? It might happen because of the effort by controversial New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
She has introduced an amendment for the next budget bill to prohibit the country’s main infrastructure-building agency from using federal funds to issue permits under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
