US crude oil prices finish above $38

 

US crude oil July futures went up more than 3% in Tuesday’s trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange as West Texas Intermediate crude rose $1.26 a barrel to settle at $38.38.

Brent August futures ended the day up 95 cents or 2.39% before finishing the day on ICE futures at $40.67 a barrel.

Natural gas prices were up 5 cents or 3% and settled at $1.61 per MMBtu.

Chesapeake Energy stock took a 19% nose dive, dropping $3.51 a share before finishing the day at $15.36. SandRidge Energy stock dropped 11 cents a share or 6.5% and ended at $1.58.

Devon Energy was up 41 cents or 3% to finish at $13.30 a share. ConocoPhillips rose 4% or $1.76 to settle at $45.11 a share.

EOG Resources rose 4.5% or $2.39 a share before finishing the day’s trading at $54.60. Marathon Oil was up 14 cents or 2% to end at $6.74.

ONEOK rose 5.3% or $1.96 a share before ending Tuesday’s trading at $38.40. Phillips 66 rose 2% or $1.44 a share and finished at $77.04.

American Electric Power dropped 16 cents before ending the day at $81.59 a share.
