Texas driller plans a dozen wells in southern Oklahoma

A Texas exploration company has received permits to drill a dozen wells at one site in southern Oklahoma.

The permits to drill were issued to Kodiak Oil and Gas Inc. of Muenster, Texas. All 12 AWU wells were approved to be drilled at 35 3S 2W and 34 3S 2W, sites located just southeast of Oil City and directly east of Healdton in Carter County.

Nine of the wells are to be drilled at the 35 3S 2W site while the remaining three will be drilled at 34 3S 2W.

Devon Energy reported completion of a Blaine County well that had a December 2018 spud date with completion made in May 2019. The well produced 921 barrels of oil a day and 3,512 Mcf of natural gas at 36 16N 10W which is a site about 12 miles due east of the city of Watonga and state of state highway 3. The production came from a drilling depth of 19,644 feet in the Mississippian formation.

Citizen Energy iii LLC completed two sister wells in Canadian County with combined production of 828 barrels of oil a day.

The Tater 27-34-11-6 wells, located at 27 11N 6W had July 2019 spud dates with completions made in December 2019.

One produced 394 barrels of oil a day and 2,893 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,732 feet while the second and larger well produced 434 barrels of oil a day and 2,311 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,705 feet. The two wells on the single pad, producing from the Mississippian formation are located about 3 miles west of the city of Mustang.
