Reports show Oklahoma’s newest oil well is in Woods County

 

Filings of completion reports reveal one of the newest wells to be drilled in Oklahoma while other companies took care of corrections and updated orders to existing wells.

The newest well to be drilled and completed in Oklahoma is in Woods County at 8 28N 16W, a site northeast of the town of Freedom. The Arndt Trust 17-28-16 1h well was drilled by BCE-Mach LLC and produced 135 barrels of oil a day and 1,078 Mcf of natural gas. The well had a February 28, 2020 spud date with drilling finished March 11 and completion made March 18, 2020 at a depth of 10,634 in the Mississippi formation.

Marathon Oil had corrections to wells in Blaine, Canadian and Kingfisher Counties in the STACK play.  An OCC Correction: update orders was part of the completion report for the Mike Steroud BIA 1509 6-22-33 mxh well that had production of 706 barrels of oil a day and 10,731 Mcf of natural gas from a site at 33 15N 9W or southwest of the city of Kingfisher.

Marathon also made corrections to reports for two Cheyenne-Arapaho BIA 1307 well at 20 13N 7W which is about 3 miles north of the city of El Reno. The corrections were for heel perforations and updated orders on each of the wells. One produced 719 barrels of oil a day and 2,387 Mcf of natural gas when it was completed in August 2019 at a depth of 17,805 feet. The second well produced 293 barrels of oil a day and 1,414 Mcf of gas from a depth of 18,036 in the Woodford formation when it was completed in August 2019.

Marathon also filed an updated completion report on the Roser 1611 2-3-34mxh well at 3 16N 11W in Blaine County. The well, located about three miles northeast of the city of Watonga produced 1,054 barrels of oil a day and 1,532 Mcf of natural gas when it was completed in May 2019 from a depth of 20,385 feet in the Mississippi Lime formation. The updated report contained corrected perforations and bottom hole data.

Mewbourne Oil Company reported the 2019 completion of a well in Ellis County at 21 22N 26W. The Sheffield 21/28 LM 2hc is located next to the state line with Texas and produced 940 barrels of oil a day and 924 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 15,620 feet in the Pennsylvanian/Missouri Series formation. The well had a March 2019 spud date and completion was made in April just northwest of the city of Shattuck.

Mewbourne also completed at well in Dewey County at 8 17N 18W. The Ronnie 17/20 Ao1hc is located several miles southwest of the city of Taloga and produced 406 barrels of oil a day and 1,015 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,550 feet in the Cleveland formation. The well had a September 2019 spud date with completion made in November 2019.

Roan Resources filed updated completion reports on two McNeff wells drilled in 2018 in Canadian County and south of the city of Mustang. A well that had production of 640 barrels of oil a day and 1,320 Mcf of natural gas was drilled at 15 10N 5W with completion in August 2018 from a depth of 19,348 feet in the Woodford formation.

On the opposite side of a road leading to a Dolese Bros. sand pit, the second McNeff well was drilled at 22 10N 5W with completion made in August 2018. It produced 707 barrels of oil a day and 1,493 Mcf of natural gas from the same formation.
