The building that was once the Hertz administrative offices in Oklahoma City sold for more than $25 million in last week’s deal following the layoffs of hundreds of Hertz workers.
As we reported earlier this week, Costco purchased the four-story building for an operations center. A report in the Oklahoman revealed the purchase price at $25.4 million based on records at the Oklahoma County Assessor.
As a result of the purchase, Costco plans to add more than 1,000 jobs to the Oklahoma City area with salaries averaging $60,000.
Costco was assisted by Oklahoma City as the City Council approved $3 million from a General Obligation Limited Tax bond okayed by voters three years ago.
