Oil prices increase by about $1 to reach $37 a barrel in US

 

US and European oil prices were up in Monday’s trading with West Texas Intermediate July futures increasing more than 2%.

WTI rose 86 cents and settled at $37.12 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude rose $1.12 or 2.89% to finish the day on ICE futures at $39.85.

Natural gas was up 6 cents or 4% and finished the day at $1.67 per MMBtu.

Local stocks included ONEOK jumping 7% or $2.35 a share settling for the day at $36.44.

SandRidge Energy was up 3 cents or 2% a share to end the day’s trading at $1.69 while Chesapeake Energy fell 36 cents or 2% ending the day at $18.87 a share.

ConocoPhillips fell 38 cents or 1% to finish the day at $43.35 while Devon Energy stocks rose 9 cents, ending at $12.89 a share.

EOG Resources dropped 36 cents to finish at $52.21 while Marathon Oil added 2 cents and ended Monday’s trading at $6.60.

Phillips 66 dropped $1.66 to end the day at $75.59 while American Electric Power fell 4 cents settling at $81.76 a share.
