Louisiana might very well become the next state to intensify a crack down on environmental protesters who trespass on energy company properties.
Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat has been sent a bill that would punish trespassing protesters with a mandatory minimum sentence of three years in prison. The bill amends existing law that already makes it a felony to trespass on oil and gas facilities which fall under a list of “critical infrastructure.”
