Studies point to unsafe levels of formaldehyde exposure in oil and gas communities in NM

State health officials in New Mexico point to a new study that confirms their growing worries that communities near oil and gas development are being exposed to higher levels of hazardous pollution…especially high levels of formaldehyde.

Tribal leaders say residents in northwest New Mexico near the Chaco reservation are especially exposed as shown in a health impact assessment that found spikes of formaldehyde and other pollutants reaching unsafe levels near homes.
