Handful of completed wells reported in Oklahoma

Of the few recently completion reports filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission two were sister wells producing more than 1,100 barrels of oil a day out of a single pad site in Dewey County.

The wells were actually drilled in 2018 and finished in 2019 by Tapstone Energy LLC which just filed the completion reports this past week.

The two Sarah Jones wells were drilled at 6 18N 14W which is a site about 8 miles due west of Canton and along state highway 51. One had production of 283 barrels of oil a day and 844 Mcf of natural gas when it was completed in February 2019 at a depth of 15,233 feet.

The second well produced 840 barrels of oil a day and 3,405 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 20,405 feet. It had a December 2018 spud date like the first well and completion was made in February 2019.

Ovintiv Mid-Continent Inc. reported completion of a McClain County well at 22 8N 4W. The Larry 0804 4h-22x is located a few miles northeast of Blanchard along highway 62. It produced 935 barrels of oil a day and 991 Mcf of natural gas at a depth of 19,290 feet. The spud date was November 2019 and drilling was finished in December with completion made in February 2020.

A small producing well in Grady County was reported completed by Continental Resources Inc. The Umbach 1-33hw, located at 32 6N 5W or about three miles northeast of Alex had production of 112 barrels of oil a day and 401 Mcf of natural gas.

Its completion report showed it had a spud date in July 2019 and drilling finished in August with completion in January 2020 from a depth of 17,502 in the Mississippian/Woodford play.
