Tulsa’s Ovintiv Mid-Continent Inc. continues seeing success with its series of multi-wells drilled from single pads in Oklahoma’s STACK play. The latest is three sister wells with production of nearly 2,000 barrels of oil a day while two wells near Kingfisher produced a thousand barrels of oil a day.
The company filed completion reports on the three Michael Fed 1608 wells located at 32 16N 8W or a site about 8 miles southwest of the city of Kingfisher.
The first well produced 482 barrels of oil a day and 1,381 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,265 feet in the Mississippian formation. It had an April 2019 spud date with completion made in November 2019.
Well number two produced 527 barrels of oil a day and 1,454 Mcf of gas from a depth of 18,920 feet. It too had an April 2019 spud date and completion on the same day in November.
The third well produced 671 barrels of oil a day and 1,162 Mcf of natural gas. Drilling depth was 19,205 feet. Like the two previous wells, it had an April spud date with completion in November.
Combined total production was 1,980 barrels of oil a day from the three wells.
Ovintiv wasn’t finished with recently completed wells in the STACK as it filed reports on two Petty Fiu 1507 wells located at 7 15N 7W or about 3 miles southwest of the city of Kingfisher. The wells had October 2019 spud dates. Drilling finished in November 2019 on the first well which produced 355 barrels of oil a day and 801 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,344 feet in the Mississippian formation, according to its completion report.
The second Petty Fiu 1507 well had production of 730 barrels of oil a day and 1,582 Mcf of natural gas when it was completed in February of 2020. Drilling depth was 19,458 feet according to the completion report filed by Ovintiv. Combined production from the two wells was 1,085 barrels of oil a day.
The company also drilled two smaller producers at 31 16N 8W which is a site about 9 miles southwest of Kingfisher. One had production of 122 barrels of oil a day and the other had 269 barrels of oil a day in production. Both were drilled in the 19,000 foot range and had spud dates of March 2019 but completions were not made until February 2020.
The completion report for the second well stated, “The OCC–The multiunit application was dismissed by Order 710659. This well was completed in Section 30 The order 709961 is an exception to rule 165:10-3-28.”
Completion reports filed on Friday showed Casillas Operating LLC had a big producer in Garvin County at 17 4N 4W which is a site about 2 miles southwest of Lindsay.
The Titan 3-17-8mxh had production of 1,150 barrels of oil a day and 5,942 Mcf of natural gas. The spud date was in May of 2019 and drilling finished in June with completion made in July 2019 from a depth of 19,959 feet.
But there were issues in drilling the well as indicated in the completion report which stated, “Redrill whole lateral due to hole instability in vertical.”
