National Oilwell Varco shares owned in part by New York investment fund

A new SEC filing by National Oilwell Varco, an oil and gas exploration company based in Houston, Texas shows a New York investment firm has ownership of 6.14% of the company’s shares.

The filing showed First Eagle Investment Management LLC of New York City has sole voting power of 22,184,470 shares while its total dispositive share ownership is 23,671,466 shares.

First Eagle is an independent firm that manages approximately $101 billion in assets for institutional and individual clients.

National Oilwell Varco is an active player in Oklahoma’s oil and gas industry. It also was prominently in the news following a 2018 gas well blowout near Quinton that killed 5 workers. Lawsuits went to trial in January 2020 and led to a $20 million jury verdict.
