$8 billion pipeline now in hands of Supreme Court justices

The fate of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline is now in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court which heard arguments Monday on whether it should be blocked from crossing the Appalachian Trail.

The 600-mile natural gas project would begin in West Virginia and stretch through Virginia and North Carolina. But in December 2019, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the U.S. Forest Service was not authorized to grant an $8 billion pipeline permit to Dominion Energy Inc.
