OKC continues to work with Denver lawyer on state’s water issues

Denver, Colorado attorney Brian Nazarenus will continue to represent Oklahoma City in its water battles in 2020.

As the Oklahoman’s William Crum reported this week, Nazarenus recently created a new law firm, Nazarenus, Stack and Wombacher LLC and the city continued with its agreement with him. It was last month when the city agreed to transfer its files from his former law firm to the new one.

As part of the agreement, Oklahoma City will continue to pay Nazarenus a rate of $415 an hour for his legal work. He is representing Oklahoma City in at least two water battles, one of which is in federal court. The other is in Pushmataha County District court in a fight over water from the Kiamichi water basin. Oklahoma City wants to build a new water line from the basin to customers in the Oklahoma City area.
