Minerals firm offers $500 million in notes

Kansas City-based Compass Minerals International, Inc.  announced it intends to offer, subject to market conditions and other considerations, $500 million in aggregate principal amount of new senior notes due 2027 in a private offering.

The Notes will be senior unsecured obligations of Compass Minerals and will be guaranteed by certain of its domestic subsidiaries.

Compass Minerals intends to use the net proceeds from the offering, together with borrowings under an expected new amended and restated credit agreement, to repay all outstanding indebtedness under its existing credit agreement, including certain prepayment premiums and exit fees.
