Energy news in brief

** Tulsa’s Magellan Midstream Partners reported a third-quarter 2019 net income of $237 million or $1.19 per unit. The company announced its total revenue for the quarter was $657 million while the net income was $595 million or $2.60 per unit.

** Mid-Con Energy Partners headquartered in Tulsa had net income of $6 million or 15 cents a unit in the third quarter of 2019 on total revenues of $21.8 million. It was an improvement over a year ago when the company suffered a loss of $3.3 million. Production also increased from 3,609 boed last year to 3,543 barrels of oil equivalent a day this year.

** WPX Energy announced third quarter net income of $121 million or 29 cents a share on revenue of $795 million. But the Tulsa company also posted a net loss of $7 million or one cent a share on revenue of $484 million in the third quarter.

** A decision is expected in the coming months whether the first offshore wind project in the Great Lakes will be approved. Regulators are considering a request for permits.

** Oklahomans in the US House split their votes on a bill to preserve nearly 400,000 acres of public lands for wilderness and recreation in Colorado. Rep. Kendra Horn, a Democrat was among 227 who voted for the Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act. Republicans Tom Cole, Frank Lucas, Markwayne Mullin and Kevin Hern were among 182 against it.
