** A SEC filing by Chesapeake Energy shows President and CEO Robert D. Lawler recently acquired 50,000 shares in the company. The shares were valued at $0.9148 each resulting in a total acquisition worth $45,740. The acquisition results in Lawler owning 5,133,298 shares in the company.
** Federal regulators have ordered the Keystone pipeline to remain shut down until its Canadian owner takes corrective action aimed at determining the cause of a breach that leaked an estimated 383,000 gallons of oil in northeastern North Dakota. The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration issued the order Tuesday to Calgary, Alberta-based TC Energy.
** After news hit of last week’s Keystone pipeline oil spill—leaders from four tribes of the Great Sioux Nation said this is exactly why they oppose both Keystone XL (KXL) and a looming expansion of the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL). “This is what pipelines do: they spill,” said Chase Iron Eyes, lead counsel for the Lakota People’s Law Project and public relations director for Oglala Sioux Tribe President Julian Bear Runner.
** The 25th annual Halliburton Charity Golf Tournament raised $4.5 million for over 100 nonprofit organizations in Houston and across the U.S, once again making it one of the largest non-PGA golf tournament fundraisers in the U.S. This amount includes a $1.5 million matching contribution from Halliburton in recognition of Halliburton’s 100th anniversary, which the Company is celebrating this year.
** Houston’s Noble Midstream Partners LP reported third quarter increases with net income of $66 million and adjusted EBITDA at $94 million….increases of 35% and 31% over the third quarter of 2018.
** Cheniere Energy, Inc.in Houston has increased its previously announced offering of Senior Secured Notes due 2029 from $1 billion to $1.5 billion. Closing of the offering will be next week.
** The McCarville Report says Oklahoma Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell has hired Kirby Smith to help support his mission of economic development, small business advocacy, and promoting tourism. Smith most recently served as Congressman Frank Lucas’ field representative for agricultural issues. Pinnell is hoping to leverage her experience in western Oklahoma to increase economic and tourism opportunities.
** The Kansas City suburb of Lee’s Summit plans to install solar panels at 15 city-owned facilities. The city says the panels will lower its carbon footprint and electricity bills.
