Inhofe says PFAS talks are going slowly

As chairman of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe isn’t exactly a bucket of enthusiasm about how to deal with man-made chemical pollution when it comes to a defense budget.

Here’s how POLITICO’s Morning Energy Report detailed it.

PFAS PROGRESSING IN NDAA BUT LITTLE ELSE: Senate Armed Services Chairman Jim Inhofe said language concerning PFAS in the National Defense Authorization Act, S. 1790 (116) , appears like it’s “gonna work out” but negotiations are overall going poorly.

“My feeling is that a skinny bill is not completely ruled out at this point,” he told reporters this week. “It’s just not moving like it should.”

Inhofe declined to specify whether the PFAS language would look more like that of the House- and Senate-passed bills.
