Newfield reports series of multi-well pads in Kingfisher County

Newfield Exploration Mid-Con Inc. reported four series of multi-well pads in Kingfisher County including one pad with 5 wells producing combined production of more than 3,300 barrels of oil a day.

The 5-well pad, located at 19 17N 8W or about 3 miles southeast of the town of Loyal had completions of 696, 338, 750, 691 and 884 barrels of oil a day. The combined production was 3,359 barrels of oil a day. The Helen 1708 wells had spud dates in October 2018 with completions made in March 2019. The deepest well was 19,285 feet while the shallowest was 18,709 feet.

Newfield got combined production of 3,227 barrels a day out of three wells drilled on a single pad at 28 17N 8W or 4 miles southeast of Loyal.  The Jr. Barton 1708 wells were just a mile from the 5-well pad. The wells had production of 1,722, 1076 and 429 barrels of oil a day with the depths in the 19,000 foot-range.

A 3-well pad at 27 17N 8W or 5 miles southeast of Loyal saw combined production of 1,390 barrels of oil a day from the Lucile 1708 wells.

Newfield wasn’t finished with its multi-well pads. Three wells were drilled on a single pad at 20 15N 9W or about 12  miles northwest of Okarche. The Stroud Fed 1509 wells had combined production of 1,309 barrels of oil a day. The largest well produced 876 barrels of oil a day.

No telling how much money Newfield lost on a single well that was lost in April 2019 at 31 16N 8W. Newfield managed to drill to a depth of 7,273 feet but couldn’t save the well due to the “high influx of water from nearby disposal well that severely washed out the drilling hole during operations.” The company reported using 1,626 sacks of cement to plug the Kenneth Fed 1608 well.
