More multi-well production for Marathon Oil in STACK

Just weeks after getting combined production of 4,900 barrels of oil a day from a four-well pad and 2,200 from a 3-well pad in Kingfisher County, Houston’s Marathon Oil Company did it again in the STACK play.

Completion reports show the company had a two-well pad a mile west of the city of Kingfisher at 28 16N 7W with combined production of more than 2,000 barrels of oil a day out of the Mississippi formation. The Firestone 1607 wells had spud dates of November 2018 with completions made in March 2019.

The largest producer had 1,076 barrels of oil a day and its total depth was 13,321 feet. The second sell had production of 944 barrels of oil a day from a depth of 13,271 feet.

They are the latest multi-well pads to see large production in Kingfisher County. Earlier in the summer, Marathon saw a 3-well pad near Okarche with production of more than 2,200 barrels of oil a day.

The company’s biggest success has been two wells on a pad in Blaine County with total production of 4,912 barrels of oil a day. The Lloyd 1710 wells are located about 8 miles southeast of the town of Hitchcock.
