Kansas storm derailed 140 rail cars

The force of a Central Kansas storm is still evident this week as winds were strong enough to topple 140 rail cars off the tracks.

The storm hit Sunday morning near El Dorado, Newton, McPherson and Wichita.

Multiple communities reported significant rainfall, trees and power lines down, including, but not limited to Butler, Harvey, McPherson and Sedgwick counties.

In Harvey County, crews responded to a train derailment on Highway 50 southwest of Walton. Two trains derailed, with 140 cars on the train.
