Vance Air Base whistleblower to get more than $800,000

The whistleblower responsible for a more than $4 million settlement of a government lawsuit against a former contractor at Vance Air Force Base will get $840,000 as his part of the agreement.

The Enid News and Eagle reports James Hughes who once worked for PAE Applied Technologies now lives in Arlington, Texas. He blew the whistle on the company by filing a lawsuit in May of 2015 alleging the company submitted false claims for wage rates above wage caps set in the company contract with the Air Force.

Prior to December 2014, PAE-Applied Technologies LLC provided services to the Air Force under an aircraft maintenance, airfield management, aircrew life support and base operating support contract.
