Flint Hills ranch for sale with a price tag of $8.58 million

What has been described as a “crown jewel ranch” of the Flint Hills in Kansas is up for sale.  If you want it, all you have to do is pay $8.58 million and enjoy the majestic scenery.

The 3,300-acre Crocker Springs Ranch is located in the heart of the tallgrass prairie. It has been owned by Bill Haw, one of the leading developers of Kansas City’s West Bottoms. The ranch is located about 70 miles northeast of Wichita and close to the city of Emporia.

Haw served as President and Chief Executive Officer of National Farms Inc. from 1974 to 2002. He is now CEO and owner of the Livestock Exchange building in Kansas City and a real estate developer.

Two miles of the 48-mile Flint Hills National Scenic Byway now pass through the property. The 11,000 acre Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is just five miles north on the Byway.

There are three pastures. One is located east of the Byway and two to the west. No buildings are located on the ranch so buyers of the 3,300 acres will get just land.

The ranch does not have any buildings but the listing states it does have shipping pens on the property.
