Electric charging network to expand

The San Francisco electric vehicle charging station company Volta Charging announced the investment firm Energy Impact Partners is providing a $44 million loan to support expansion of the network.

The company has nearly 700 charging stations in 10 states—none in Oklahoma and only 6 in Texas.  It is largely a coastal company with more than 400 stations in California alone.

Volta was founded in 2010 and says it’s now the nation’s largest free charging network. Retail partners include Whole Foods and Macy’s.
