Brand new Oklahoma budget year includes money for flood control and clean water

July 1st marked the start of a new budget year for the state government in Oklahoma and it includes nearly $2.8 million for rural floodcontrol dams and clean water.

The State Senate website explained that the budget included $1.59 million to be spent to improve rural flood control dams. Another $500,000 is budgeted to maintain clean water for Oklahomans.

The budget also includes $200,000 devoted to wildffire mitigation programs. Another $600,000 will be spent devoted to rural fire operational grants.
