Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma is new name of merged oil and gas groups

Eight months after the historic merger of the state’s two largest oil and gas associations, members have renamed their group the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma.

Members approved the new name at their annual meeting held this week in Irving, Texas. It was in November 2018 when the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association and the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Association merged.
The grand unveiling of the group’s new logo came this week at the  meeting held in Las Colinas. The new name and logo were approved two months ago by the Association’s Executive Committee following the recommendation of the Branding Committee led by Rand Phipps. Others on the committee were David Le Norman, Tommie Herell, Wade Hutchings and Berry Mullennix.
“The new name and logo were selected during a five-month process that included one-on-one interviews with association members, industry leaders and state policymakers,” explained Chad Warmington, President of the Association which previously went by the name of OIPA-OKOGA.
He said the new logo and name were created with the assistance of a communications firm that specializes in branding.
“It represents the unified industry the association advocates on behalf of and is designed to be reflective of the state’s defining industry and its out-sized role in the success of the state as a whole,” said Warmington.
