Kansas City Southern prepares to release 2nd Q earnings report

With rail operations that take its trains through eastern Oklahoma, Kansas City Southern plans to release its second quarter 2019 financial results next month.

The company announced the release will be made Friday, July 19 before the opening of trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

Company leaders will then hold an earnings conference call at 7:45 a.m. Central Time. Shareholders and others interested in following the financial well-being of the company will be able to take part via live webcast or telephone.

Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City Southern is the smallest of the Class 1 railroads in North America. The company reported a strong first quarter showing with a 5 percent jump in net revenue reaching $675 million compared to the $660 million reported in the first quarter of 2018. First quarter 2019 net income was $103 million or $1.02 a share, down from the $145 million and $1.40 per share reported in the same period of 2018.
