Howard Energy wraps up Gulf Coast projects while pushing ahead with STACK project

San Antonio’s Howard Energy Partners, the same company that is building a new natural gas gathering system in Oklahoma’s STACK play announced completion of expansions of its Port Arthur and Corpus Christi terminal structures in Texas.

The Port Arthur operation has 12 new tanks along with two barge docks, a ship dock and 6.5-miles of bidirectional pipeline. It increased Howard Energy’s Gulf Coast  terminal storage capacity to 2.6 million barrels.

The company also said it has contracts with one existing customer to load additional unit trains at its Corpus Christi bulk liquids terminal facility, bound for “new destinations in Mexico.”

Brad Bynum, Howard’s Co-Founder and President suggests more expansions are likely.

“We currently have more than 470 acres for additional Gulf Coast expansion projects, including significant water frontage.

The completion of the expansions comes as Howard Energy hopes to have its STACK natural gas gathering system in operation in the third quarter of this year. Located in Dewey and Custer counties, the system will begin with an initial capacity of 110 million cubic feet of natural gas a day.

Howard made the announcement in April that it had entered the Oklahoma market in a deal with a major North American oil and gas producer to build the system. Neither the identity of the producer nor terms of the deal were revealed.
