Contract awarded to expand KC-46 tanker training at Altus Air Force Base

A $13.45 million contract has been won by a contractor in Yukon to build a new training facility at Altus Air Force Base.

SGS LLC won the contract to finish work as Altus takes on the new KC-46A Pegasus refueling tanker. Altus is where crews will be trained to flight the new plane.

The Phase 3 contract won by SGS calls for construction to be completed in 2021.  Phase 2 was also handled by SGS and included construction of a 23,000-square-foot open-air building for simulation training.
