Colorado driller hits 2,200 barrel a day well in western Oklahoma

Oklahoma’s largest well this week, one with production of nearly 2,200 barrels of oil a day is not in the STACK.  Not in the SCOOP.

It’s only a few miles from the state line in far western Oklahoma’s Roger Mills County where Denver, Colorado-based FourPoint Energy LLC drilled the Freezeout 17×8-11-26 1hc. The well is located at 17 11N 26W.

The well had a November 2018 spud date and drilling was finished in December 2018. The completion was made in January 2019, according to records filed this week with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

Production totaled 2,165 barrels of oil a day along with 4,176 Mcf of natural gas. But it also needed a lot of frac sand. Records show the driller used more than 8 million pounds of sand along with 30,742 barrels of fluid to produce the well in the Missourian play of the upper Granite Wash.

FourPoint also had a well with production of 724 barrels of oil located in the same region. The Rollie 2X11-10-25 1HA is located 10.5 miles east of the Texas state line and about 10 miles northeast of the western town of Erick.

FourPoint Energy was founded by a leadership team of Cordillera Energy Partners following the sale to Apache Corporation in 2012. The company has four field offices located in Western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle.
