Blaine county produces another big one for Marathon Oil

Houston’s Marathon Oil Company is the latest to hit a big producer in Oklahoma’s Blaine County, one of the main counties that make up the STACK play.

Marathon filed a completion report this week on  the Harry Potter 1511 9-3-34mxh which had initial production of 1,862 barrels of oil a day. Gas production totaled 3,410 Mcf according to the completion report on file with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

The well is located at 3 15N 11W or about 4 miles southeast of Watonga and had a May 2018 spud date. Drilling was finished in August of 2018 and the completion was made in September of last year.

Records show the Harry Potter well was hit after 256,925 barrels of fluid and 20,433,108 pounds of proppant were used by the driller.
