Blaine County keeps on being a sweep spot for Continental Resources

Continental Resources continues to bring in the big wells in Oklahoma’s STACK—especially Blaine County which has turned into something of a sweet spot for the Oklahoma City-based energy company.

Continental’s latest large well is producing 1,303 barrels of oil a day along with 2,175 Mcf of natural gas. Located at 21 16N 10W or about 7 miles east of Watonga along state highway 3, the Browning 2-21-16xhm had a spud date of July 2018.

Completion reports on file with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission show drilling finished in September of last year but the well was not completed until mid-April of 2019.

The records reflect 368,699 barrels of fluid along with 21,690,104 pounds of sand were used to produce the well in the Mississippi Lime.
