Navy’s Blue Angels to perform at Tinker Air Force base air show

The Navy’s Blue Angels. Now that’s a low of energy and power! And the premier flight demonstration team will be at Tinker Air Force base next month at the Star Spangled Salute Air and Space Show.

It’s been more than 10 years since the Blue Angels last performed at Tinker AFB. The F/A-18 fighter-attack planes will perform June 1 and 2.

“We’re dedicating an entire aircraft hangar to displays to bring in a little interaction with our younger crowd-going members,” explained Air Force Capt. Gavin Unverfehrt in announcing the addition of the Blue Angels.

Other planes will be on display including “Doc”, the privately-owned B-29 Superfortress.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. on the two days. The flying acts will perform at 11 a.m..
