WPX to release 1Q earnings report in May

Tulsa’s WPX Energy will release its first-quarter 2019 financial and operations results on May 2 of this year.

Management will hold a webcast at 9 a.m. CDT on that Thursday. Chief Executive Officer Rick Muncrief, Chief Operating Officer Clay Gaspar and Chief Financial Officer Kevin Vann will discuss the the company’s performance.

Investors are encouraged to access the event and the corresponding slides at www.wpxenergy.com. The slides for the event will be posted on WPX’s website on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 4:15 p.m. Eastern.

WPX reported unaudited fourth-quarter 2018 net income from continuing operations attributable to common shareholders of $353 million, or income of $0.83 per share on a diluted basis. The same measure for full-year 2018 was $234 million, or income of $0.57 per share.

“Without question, 2018 was a pivotal year for WPX. We reduced our operating areas from three to two, paid down nearly $500 million of senior notes, achieved our deleveraging goal and continued to benefit from our midstream strategy,” said Rick Muncrief, chairman and chief executive officer when the 4th quarter reports were released.

WPX has core positions in the Permian and Williston basins.
