Water Appreciation Day to be April 17

The 13th annual Water Appreciation Day in Oklahoma will be held next week.

Governor Kevin Stitt signed a proclamation declaring April 17 as Water Appreciation Day.

An exhibition will be located in the 4th floor rotunda of the State Capitol from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Water-focused groups will showcase the importance of Oklahoma’s water resources. They will also provide information on their water management, conservation and educational programs for legislators and other government officials.

“No natural resource is as vital to the welfare of Oklahoma as clean and accessible water,” says Julie Cunningham, OWRB Executive Director.  “The proper care and management of water is vital to Oklahoma’s agriculture production, municipal development, business and industry, tourism and outdoor recreation, and so much more.”

In addition to the OWRB, a number of academic institutions, civic organizations, and state and federal agencies will be featured in the State Capitol exhibition.
