A longtime oilfield company pilot is being mourned this week in Oklahoma.
Jack Hood Reid, 82, of McCloud died this week and his funeral will be April 5 in Shawnee.
He flew oil workers all over the country and the world. Reid was the chief pilot for Mustang Oil of Oklahoma City, His obituary stated that he was responsible for the first corporate hangar at Will Rogers Airport.
Reid later became chief pilot for Piedmont Chemical of Highpoint, North Carolina.
He earlier had been a pilot for Jet Fleet based at Love Field in Dallas, Texas where he flew passengers like Elvis Presley, Ronald Reagan to their destinations. He even flew UN Secretary General Kirk Waldheim to Cuba.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. at the Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee.
