EPIC wins federal approval for a new oil pipeline in the Permian Basin

For energy companies such as Devon and others from Oklahoma, relief from the inability to move more oil out of the Permian Basin might be coming soon.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has given the go-ahead for the EPIC Crude Pipeline LP’s new 900,000 barrels a day line to Corpus Christi, Texas.

EPIC indicated it plans to have the line providing interim service by mid-2019 and fully operational by the fourth quarter of the year. Construction will be in two phases including an interim one to allow the leasing from adjacent natural gas liquids and a secondary mainline construction phase.

Two parts of the NGL system are already in place and a third is expected to be finished by June.
