Energy bills galore to be considered by Oklahoma House committee

Oklahoma State House members take up several energy related measures Tuesday in a meeting of the House Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

The agenda includes handling of SB302 which would require the Oklahoma Mining Commission to post permit information online.

SB519 would prohibit certain transfers of funds and modifying apportionment of the petroleum excise tax under the Oil and Gas Division Revolving Fund.

SB639 would affect the Corporation Commission and would change the distribution of certain reports.

SB702 is a bill on the environment and would establish a moratorium on certain permits, provide conditions to end legislative moratoria and require certain agencies to coordinate rule promulgations related to water.

The committee will consider SB797 which would make Income Tax changes related to credit for investments in clean-burning motor vehicle fuel property.

SB998 applies to groundwater and water rights and would create the Groundwater Irrigation District Act. It would also create groundwater irrigation districts and provide for initial designation of a groundwater district board.

SB1000 is the Oklahoma Energy Independence Act and would change property to which act applies and modify repayment structure.

SB1003 would create the Oklahoma Environmental, Health and Safety Audit Privilege Act. It would specify certain information to be contained in complete audit reports, provide for damages and fines and allow disclosure of audit contents in certain circumstances.

SB1005 would prohibit the Department of Environmental Quality from requiring air curtain incinerators in certain areas.

SB1008 is the Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act and would modify the definition of excavate.

The committee meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in room 432A of the capitol.
