State regulators to consider protective order for OGE

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission meets Tuesday and one of the items on the agenda is an issue still related to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act signed into law by President Trump.

As a result of the Act, Oklahoma Gas and Electric had a $64 million net rate reduction which was approved by the Commission following a nationwide statement by Commissioner Bob Anthony. He advocated at the time that corporations should pass along their savings from the tax cut to consumers, which OGE did.

However the utility also filed a request last year for a protective order regarding confidential information.  The request is to be considered at Tuesday’s regular meeting.

The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Jim Thorpe Office building, 2101 North Lincoln Boulevard at the capitol.
