Oklahomans endured one of their windiest days in some time as winds on Wednesday reached 73 miles an hour in Gage.
Power outages were reported and as of Thursday morning, 1,000 customers of OGE were still without power. Wind gusts of 60 were common throughout the state.
But they were nothing compared to the 101 mph recorded at San Augustin Pass, northeast of Las Cruces, New Mexico. And just west of the Texas-New Mexico border northeast of Tucumcari, 26 cars of a freight train were blown off a trestle.
