The energy industry plays such an important role in shaping Oklahoma’s economy, whether it’s oil and gas, wind, electricity, coal or transportation.
So goes the economy—so goes state government. State Treasurer Randy McDaniel is out with a new monthly Oklahoma Economic report in which he discusses improving transparency and enhancing access to information, calling it “simply good government.”
He cites as an example how to learn more about Oklahoma’s bond debt, inquiries would have to go through several websites.
“Today, a single site is being built for what you need to know,” said McDaniel in the report. “The new site is a substantial step forward in providing a central clearinghouse for financial information located in silos across the state government.”
