Gasoline prices rose again in the past week in Oklahoma

Gasoline prices in Oklahoma rose again in the past week reaching a new statewide average of $2.43. The new average is 7 cents higher than a week ago.

AAA Oklahoma reports the cheapest gasoline is found in Walters, the county seat of Cotton County in the southwest where motorists pump gas at an average price of $2.33. Sayre in the northwest has the highest prices with an average of $2.66 per gallon.

Southeastern and eastern Oklahoma counties report some of the lowest prices as well. Idabel’s average is $2.39. So is Poteau while Sallisaw along I-40 next to the state line has an average of $2.38 per gallon.

Prices in Tulsa rose 12 cents over the past week reaching a new average of $2.44. Oklahoma City’s average went up 5 cents to hit $2.40. Prices in Lawton rose 6 cents and the city has an average price of $2.36 per gallon.

The nationwide average this week is $2.63 which is 9 cents higher than a week ago. Oklahoma’s average compares to $2.42 in Texas, $2.38 in Arkansas and $2.47 in Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico.
