Growing concern about an economic slowdown affects oil prices

Worries about an economic slowdown combined with OPEC’s production cuts and U.S. sanctions on Iran and Venezuela prompted a slip in oil prices in early trading on Monday. A Texas investment firm reports disposing of nearly 6 million shares it had in Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Corporation.
