A filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was made this week by a shareholder in Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy.

The filing was an explanation of ownership of shares by the Carlyle Group based in Washington, D.C. The group and its various firms hold 172,897,387 shares in Chesapeake.

The ownership is actually under the name of CP VI Eagle Holdings, L.P.
