Oil leak under investigation at Okemah Lake

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission indicated it is unsure when an oil spill or leak at Okemah Lake in eastern Oklahoma might be cleaned up.

The oil reportedly spilled from an Enerfin Resources pipeline last week and drew the attention of the OCC. Reports indicate the cause of the oil spill is still under investigation.

Booms were strung across the entrance to the creek that feeds the lake which is a source of drinking water for the city of Okemah.

Enerfin Resources is based in Houston, Texas and has more than 8,500 miles of gathering lines accessing more than 10 million acres of oil and gas production in three states.
