Longtime executive retires at Murphy Oil

A new leader in Exploration and Business Development is in place at Murphy Oil Corporation following the retirement of longtime Executive Vice President Eugene Coleman.

He chose to retire effective Feb. 28 after 17 years with Murphy Oil based in El Dorado, Arkansas. Coleman spent more than 38 years in the energy industry and will be replaced by Michael K. McFadyen who is the Executive Vice President for Offshore operations.

The company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial officer, David  R. Looney will take over the Business Development for the company.

Coleman joined Murphy in 2001 and was named Executive VP of Offshore operations in 2016 followed by being named to his current role in 2018. He was a key player in negotiating and closing the Gulf of Mexico transaction with Petrobras.
